Yaesu Skip - Off/Skip/Select (Preferential Scan)

Modified on Mon, Jul 1 at 2:20 PM

The radio has options for how a  channel is handled during scanning.  You set this option when setting up a memory channel.

If you always want to include everything, you can ignore the Skip column during memory channel entry.

The options for Skip are

Off - The channel is always included when scanning

Skip - The channel is never included when scanning.

Select - The channel is included in a special Scan list that includes only the channels set to Select.  (This is a great way to isolate some channels for scanning when you are in a different QTH).

Remember, these are options that only control scanning.  All channels are always available to be selected with manual tuning.

Once channels have been designated as Select channels, you can scan that list by beginning the scan on one of those channels.

If you begin scanning on a channel that is not marked as Select, all channels will be included in the scan.

Details for this scanning are found in the Advance Manual for the FTM-3200 found on Yaesu's web site or which can be downloaded here.    FTM-3200 Advanced Manual
