The Baofeng UV-5R radio comes in lots of variations. Some are the same with different numbers. Others are very different (although they might look the same... welcome to the world of Chinese radios). Detailed here is a list of which work with which programmer from RT Systems. The radio name with its spaces, dashes and letters is critical for identifying your model.
Chose the BAO-5R for the UV-5, UV-5R, UV-5R+, UV-5R5, UV-5RA, UV-5RC, UV-5RE, UV-5RV2+. UV-5RTP, UV-5RI6+, UV-5RCx (2M/220MHz), UV-5X, UV-5XP, UV-5R3, UV-5R3band, UV-5RX3, UV-5XP, and UV-5RIII radios for all firmware versions as of 06/20/2020 (these change continually and must be addressed on a per case bases if problems arise.)

The BAO-5R Radio Programmer is available for either Windows OS or Mac OS. Operating System selection available when adding to cart.
Exceptions: The BAO-5R software does NOT with the BTech UV-5X3, the Baofeng UV-5R-3, UV-5X Mate UV-82, BF-F8 or BF-F8HP radios. Click your radio model to select the programmer for it.
Note: The BAO-5R IS the right programmer for the UV-5Rx3 (notice the lower case "x") radio being sold by Main Trading from Paris Texas.
