The FTM-150 lets you enter a custom filename for your programming file. This is a great feature. You can save files based on event or location to reprogram the radio without having the computer immediately available.
There are some limitations.
- The filename can have only 12 characters. The File Save process will not enforce this limit. You must be sure to enter twelve characters or less as the filename. It is not case sensitive and spaces are allowed. If there are more characters, the file will not be available during the Read from SD process on the radio.
- The radio allows for only 10 filenames.
In the programmer you will see this screen twice: Once during Communications Read from SD Card and again during Communications | Write to SD Card
Select the file you want to use from the list presented.
Remember: This is NOT saving the file on your computer. Be sure to complete File | Save to capture a permanent copy of your work on the hard drive.
