Name display on the radio can be controlled two ways:
1) The option for name display is a part of the Programmable memories of this radio. The programmer sets Show Name to "ON", automatically, for all Programmable Memories.
If a name is entered, it will be displayed. If no name is entered, the frequency is displayed.
To turn off the name display, uncheck Show Name for each Programmable Memory found on the Common tab (lower left) at Settings | PM0 Menu Settings through PM5 Menu Settings.
2) The radio can be toggled between name and frequency easily from its face. Press the Tuning Control knob (large one at lower left) briefly for toggle. The selection remains even when the radio is powered off and back on.
