Cross Band Repeat... not quite what you expect BTech / QYT / Radioddity / Socotran

Many of the radios on the market today advertise "cross band" operations. Beware, currently (09/02/2019) this function may not be what you expect.

True cross band repeat operations work with two channels on which the radio receives and transmits automatically between the two when a signal is heard on either. Simplex or repeater frequencies can be used for either of these channels.

In many of the radios today, the term "cross band" is being used to describe the ability to put a transmit and receive frequency of different bands into the same memory channel. While this is great for satellite operations, it may not be what you're looking for with traditional cross band functionality.

Now, this information is offered from our investigation of the radio and the manual. If you find something we missed through an undocumented front panel keystroke, please let us know. We will be glad to try it and publish new information.
