Well, Abbree is up to the same tricks as Baofeng. They have introduced a new radio with an old number. The AR-F8 received today is a totally different radio from the original with the same number.
RT Systems has developed and now includes in the setup a programmer for each the original and the new AR-F8 radios.
Presented here are some details to help you know which will work for your radio.
Your radio is the original and uses the AR-F8 Programmer If the display of that radio looks like this:
Your radio is the new version (2023) and uses the AR-F8X Programmer if the display of that radio looks like this:
The installation for the Programmer will present the two options as shown below. Select the one you know will work or install them both. One will work.... one will not. Delete the icon of the one that does not to prevent confusion in the future.
Anyone with Version 5 of the original AR-F8 programmer from RT Systems can download the new installer using your original serial number and email address. This fresh download will include the new version of the Programmer along with the original.
