Getting the most from your DMR radio. Here is someone with details to help you listen to more than one talk group on your local repeater.
W7DOA at 406 Ham Radio - DMR Listening
One caveat to this video. W7DOA says that you cannot go back to the talk group that you hear while monitoring. We have heard differently; but, unfortunately don't have means to test.
In our research and understanding of the DMR system, there are options in the settings for Group Call Hold Time, Private Call Hold Time, Group TG Hold and Private TG Hold. These are found in the Programmer under Settings | Radio Menu Settings | Digital/Vox.
IF you return the call heard within the time set, the connection remains active for conversations. If not, the connection closes and you key up on the talk group assigned to the channel (this reminds me of two-tone signaling). Try it and let me know your results.
One more thing... we strongly suspect that this is a feature only when working DMR on a repeater. We doubt you will be able to do this through a hotspot of any kind... but we could be wrong. We are always open to information gained from those of you experimenting with these feature packed radios.
