FT-2900 Memory Bank Limit
The Yaesu FT-2900 will allow only 50 channels per memory bank.
This is contrary to the information presented on page 34 in the Operating Manual for the radio. There it states, "Each Memory Bank can be assigned up to 200 channels from the "basic" memory channels."
Testing with the radio yielded a "BNKFUL" message on the face of the radio when attempting to store the 51st channel to a bank.
The RT Systems programmer reflects the design of the radio and will not allow you to check more than 50 in any one of the Bank columns.,
Remember as with any Yaesu radio, you can assign the same channel to several different banks... no channels to a bank while using banks after that one... or omit a channel from all banks (you'll use it only when not in bank mode). Also, if you don't need the separation that bank mode offers, RT Systems recommends that you do not use any of the banks. All memories are always available when not in bank mode.
