Working with an SD card that reports as Write ProtectedWhen working with a Micro SD card, the programmer may report that the card is write protected. This happens because:
1) The holder you're using to put the card into the slot on your computer has a slide that moves to a "locked" position. Check the card for a tiny slide that moves and try it again with that tab in a different position. (These are very much like the tabs that were on floppy disks at the turn of the century... remember those!! It is there to protect the data on the device... or be really annoying depending on what you're trying to do).
2) You may need to use a USB SD card reader to connect the card to the computer. Some computers see the slot for a totally different use and while you can read from the device in the drive, you cannot write to it. I noticed on the last computer I saw this on, the designation for the drive was something like "SHCD" and I suspected something in the computer's configuration for the equipment. The customer reported later that using a USB reader made everything work easily and flawlessly.
