FT-65 Quick VFOs and use of the "P" keys
The "P" keys of the FT-65 can have three distinct functions: Memory channel recall, VFO recall, or Menu function recall. The functions of the keys are independent one from another so each key can be set up to do a different one of the functions.

To set this up in the programmer:

Go to Settings | Radio Menu Settings. Here you will assign the function (Type) for each key. select from Memory, VFO or Menu. Once you make this selection, the Menu or Memory column will become available based on your selection. VFOs are set on the Home tab because there are many more options to address for these.

If you plan to use the P1, P2, P3 or P4 keys for VFO, save and exit the settings after making this selection. Then access the Home tab at the bottom on the main screen of the programmer. The options for the channels are on the Home tab rather than the VFO tabs because there are only one set of these channels and while you are operating in VFO mode, they act like Home channels given the one button recall.

Set the details for the channels then access them from the face of the radio with the P1, P2, P3 or P4 key while in VFO or memory mode.
