Cannot Get or Send data to the FT-710 after reset

This problem will become evident if you have been able to use the programmer for a time and now you cannot. This is the first thing to check.

There are several resets for the FT-710.  

One of them you learn about when you do a firmware update on the radio.  That involved holding the [DISP Reset} and [Fine/Fast] keys during power on.  Outside the firmware update, this only serves to turn off some information that is necessary for the programmer to communicate properly with your radio.  

All is not lost. 

Do the All Reset through the Extension Menu as described on page 99 of the manual.  The necessary information will again be available for the programmer to use to identify your radio.
