Computers today come with all sorts of "safeguards" built in and turned on. These can cause unexpected behavior that was never experienced in the past... what fun!!
If you encounter the error messages as that shown in the screenshot when attempting to save a file from within your RT Systems programmer, follow the instructions below to resolve the issue.
- Right click on the Windows start menu icon
- Select Settings from the options shown.
- In Settings, select Privacy and Security | Windows Security | Virus & Threat Protection
- Under Virus and threat protection settings, click Manage Settings.
- If Virus & threat Protection settings does not appear on this screen, click the link for Microsoft Defender Antivirus options
- Set Periodic Scanning to On. Agree to the change when prompted.
- When you return to the Virus & Threat protection screen, several more options will be available including Virus & threat protection settings.
- Under Controlled folder access, select Manage Controlled folder access
- Deactivate Controlled folder access.
After completing the steps outlined above, the software will now be able to successfully save a radio data file to the Documents directory of your PC.
Alternately, you can save to a directory other than the Documents directory. We found in testing that Downloads or Desktop worked well. You can create your own subdirectory in either location for the files. The Programmer will return to this location after the first file is saved there.
