ARM Driver Installation - Manual Driver Installation

Modified on Wed, 11 Oct 2023 at 11:16 AM

The following address installation of drives for the RT Systems cables.  Those with the RT Systems embossed on the hood.  This is NOT for DRM radios.  As of today, 09/30/2023, RT Systems knows of no drivers to address the DMR radios using and computer with an ARM processor.

==============================================================

For new computers with the ARM processor, you will need to install the drivers for the RT Systems cable separately from installation of the programmer.  Not hard to do if you know all the steps.

  1. Go to RT Systems drivers to download the ARM drivers.
  2. A zip file entitled USBDriversARM.zip is downloaded to your computer.  (Usually into the c:\Download directory.  Watch your browser for indication of the download)
  3. Extract the USBDriversARM file to a location on your computer.  The extract process will tell you where that file is going.  This is a for temporary use. Make the location easy to access.  (On my system it extracted to the same directory, c:\downloads into the USBDriversARM folder.  The resulting location was c:\downloads\USBDriversARM.
  4. Depending on the extract process you are using, a window will open to that folder. If not, go to the folder you designated through Windows explorer.
  5. In the USBDriverARM folder, you will find many files.  You are interested in FTDIBUS.inf and FTDIPORT.inf.
  6. Select FTDIBIS.inf (Setup Information) and right click on it to open the dropdown menu.  Install will be available from that menu.  Click Install and follow the prompts.
  7. Once completed, return to the list of files and select FTDIPORT.inf (Setup Information), right click and select Install.  Follow the prompts to complete.

Attach the cable and try the process again.

NOTE:  If a lesser menu is presented when you right click on the file that does not include Install,  you are still in the zip file.  You cannot install from within the zip file although you can see all the files... sort of a gotcha!!  Unzip the files and try again from the expanded list.
