Some radios available today have the option that allows you to prevent or inhibit transmit on a given channel. Included here are those models and the steps to prevent or inhibit transmission (to Not Transmit).
Wouxun KG-UV1/2/3 Handheld models In the programmer set Offset Direction to No Transmit. Transmit Frequency and Offset Frequency will be blanked for that channel.
Wouxun KG-UV6 Handheld models In the programmer set Offset Direction to No Transmit. Transmit Frequency and Offset Frequency will be blanked for that channel. .
In other radios that do not offer this option, we offer this suggestion: Set the Transmit Frequency for the channel to one within the ham band and that is little used in your area. Also, set Output power (often designated as Tx Power) to the lowest option. Then if you do accidentally transmit, you will do so on a frequency that is "legal" for your license. inhibit transmit 08/26/2020
