Driver installation for DMR radios needs a little help on some computers. You have all the pieces you need with the installation of the RT Systems programmer. No need to "hunt" for drivers to install.
This short video will show you what to do to overcome this issue and get everything ready for programming that radio.
What is shown here will not work for a computer with an ARM processor. There are not drivers available for those computers. It also will not work for a radio with the open GD77 firmware installed.
Correcting No Ports Found Message
Note: A radio with the Open GD77 firmware installed will identify in Device Manager in Ports (Com & LPT) as a USB Serial Device. This will not work with the programmer. The radio will identify on its screen during power on as "Radioddity GD-77" (although you might be able to change this power on message.)
A true Baofeng DMR-1701 will identify in Device Manager under Universal Serial Device controllers as an STM Device in DFU Mode. This is what the RT Systems DMR-1701 software is looking for. The radio will identify on its screen during power on as "Baaofeng".
