DMR: Alert Tone Preferences

This was written with the Anytone AT-D878 programmer, however, there are several others (Alinco and BTech models) have the same options.  This article is helpful for all of those. 


To get to the preferences menu click Settings and then Radio Menu Settings.


 

 

Alert Tone 

Once the new window pops up, which can take a little longer than expected to load all the preferences, make sure you are on the Alert Tone tab.




Ana Idle Chan Tone – Provides an audible alert when the current analog channel is idle.

Digi Call Reset Tone – Provides an audible alert when the Digital hold time (group/private) terminates. (Note: The Group and Private Call Hold Times are set on the Digital /VOX tab.)

Digi Idle Channel Tone – Provides an audible alert when the current digital channel is idle.

Volume Change Prompt – Displays the volume level on screen as you increase/decrease the volume.

Key Tone – Provides an audible alert when you press a key on the keypad.

Startup Sound – Provides an audible alert when the radio is powered on.

Call Alert – Provides an audible alert when receiving a digital call.

SMS Alert – Provides an audible alert when receiving an SMS (Short Message Service).

Key Sound Adjustable – This allows you to set the volume level that plays when you press a key if you have the Key Tone box checked above.

Talk Permit – Provides an audible alert indicating whether the repeater heard your transmission and if the channel is clear to transmit.

  1. Off – You will NOT be notified if the repeater heard your transmission.
  2. Digital – For digital Channels you will be notified if the repeater heard your transmission, and the time slot is clear to transmit.
  3. Analog – For analog channels you will be notified if the repeater heard your transmission, and it is clear to transmit.
  4. Digital & Analog – For analog and digital channels you will be notified if the repeater heard your transmission, and it is clear to transmit.

 

Call Permit Tone – For customizing the sound of the Call Permit Tone.

Idle Channel Tone – For customizing the sound of the Idle Channel Tone.

Call Reset Tone – For customizing the sound of the Call Reset Tone.
