Digital/VOX Tab

Once the new window pops up, which can take a minute to load all the preferences, make sure you are on the Digital/VOX tab.

Digital Remote Stun and Kill – If this box is checked it allows remote shutdown of the Radio.

Filter Own ID in Miss Call – You will not be reminded if you receive a call from your own radio ID.

Monitor Slot Hold – This will allow you to monitor the current slot continuously.

Remote Slot Hold – This will allow you to receive all talk groups appearing on both slots.

Remote Monitor – Allows you to set your radio to monitor a specific time slot on a repeater, even when you’re not actively transmitting or receiving on that slot.

Digital Monitor – This is basically Promiscuous mode, which will let you listen to all available talk groups on the repeater. You can monitor (listen) to the talk groups, but just remember to transmit, you will need to figure out where the transmission came from.

  1. Off – Will not use promiscuous mode.
  2. Single Slot – This will allow you to monitor (not transmit) the current Timeslot.
  3. Double Slot - This will allow you to monitor (not transmit) Timeslot 1 and Timeslot 2.

Digital Monitor CC – This allows Digital monitor to monitor any color code, or only the same color code.

  1. Any – Allows you to monitor any color code.
  2. Same – Allows you to monitor the same color code.

Digital Monitor ID – Monitor digital communication activity on a specific talk group or channel without transmitting.

Group Call Hold Time – This is the duration a radio remains connected to a Talk Group call after the original transmission is completed. If you miss calls, you can adjust this duration.

Private Call Hold Time – This is the duration a radio remains connected to a private call after the original transmission is completed. If you miss calls, you can adjust this duration.

Group TG Hold – When calling a Group Talk Group, it will hold for this amount of time.

Private TG Hold – When calling a Private Talk Group, it will hold for this amount of time.

Prewave Time – This is the time delay between the start of the pre-amble and the start of the actual transmission of the digital signal.

SMS Format – Select which type of SMS you wish to send. If you are having trouble sending/receiving SMS using M or H, you might want to just use the DMR Standard.

  • M-SMS
  • H-SMS
  • DMR Standard

Wake Head Period - Controls the delay between the end of a transmission and the start of the next transmission.

Bluetooth - Allows you to adjust the Bluetooth settings.

  1. BT + int mic - Allows the radio to use both the internal microphone and a connected Bluetooth audio device simultaneously. When enabled, you can transmit audio using either the radio's built-in microphone or the microphone of the paired Bluetooth device.
  2. BT + int spk - Allows the radio to output audio through both the internal speaker and a connected Bluetooth audio device at the same time. When activated, received audio will be heard from both the radio's speaker and the paired Bluetooth device.
  3. BT + on/off - Allows you to toggle the Bluetooth functionality of the radio on or off.
  4. BT + PTT Hold - Determines the behavior of the Bluetooth PTT button. When enabled, pressing and holding the Bluetooth PTT button will transmit, and releasing it will cease transmission. This allows for a hands-free operation when using a Bluetooth PTT accessory.

Hold Time - Defines how long the radio waits before disconnecting from Bluetooth after the Bluetooth PTT button is released.

Mic Gain - Allows you to adjust the level of amplification applied to the microphone input which directly affects how loudly your voice will be transmitted over the air.

Sleep Time - Allows you to set how long the Bluetooth PTT button stays in an active (awake) state before going to sleep to save battery.

Rx Delay - Allows you to set the delay applied when the radio starts receiving a signal. This setting determines the amount of time the radio waits before passing audio to the speaker after detecting an incoming transmission.

Spk Gain - Allows you to control the volume level of the audio output from the radio’s speaker when it is output through the internal speaker or any connected audio device (like a Bluetooth headset).

VOX - Allows you to adjust the VOX settings.

VOX Delay - Allows the transmission to be delayed after the microphone input has stopped. This helps prevent the transmission from being cut off too quickly.

VOX Detection - Allows the radio to automatically switch between transmit and receive mode based on if it detects voice activity or not.

  1. Built in Microphone - Select this if you are using the radio microphone.
  2. External Microphone - Select this if using an external microphone.
  3. Both - Select this if using both the radio microphone, and external microphone.

VOX Level - This determines when the radio will activate or deactivate transmission.
