Rugged Radio GMRS Radio Tone Selection: Numbers vs frequencies

Modified on Wed, Jul 3 at 4:05 PM

The GMR2 uses a numbering system for the CTCSS tones.  This chart will help you sort things out.

Two things about this:

  • The Programmer uses standard CTCSS frequency values to give consistency across all the radios.

The name on the face of the radio indicates the GMRS frequency as they are normally listed and the tone assigned to that channel.  No "-#' in the name indicates that there is no tone assigned to that channel.

From what I can best tell, CTCSS frequencies can be changed from the face of the radio, but DCS codes cannot.

As for the CTCSS tones
