The article was done using the Anytone AT-D878 but will apply to many other models from Anytone, Alinco, and BTech.
To get to the preferences menu click Settings and then Radio Menu Settings.
Hot Key Tab
Once the new window pops up, which can take a minute while loading all the preferences, make sure you are on the Hot Key tab.
Hot Key Tab
Setting up Hot Keys allows you to set up shortcuts for Calls or menu items.
Menu – Allows you to select the menu item the Hot Key will access.
Call Type – Select between Analog and Digital.
Call Object – Select the Call Object.
- If Analog is selected it will allow you to select one of your pre-defined choices from the Hot Keys>Quick Call/Stat Info tab – Analog Quick Call section.
Digi Call Type – Select the Digi Call Type.
- If Hot Text is selected it will allow you to select one of your pre-defined messages from the SMS Messages tab in the comment section below.
- If you change one of your SMS Messages you will need to Apply and Save Changes, and then reopen the Preferences menu for the changes to be reflected.
- If State Information is selected it will allow you to select one of your pre-defined messages from the Hot Keys>Quick Call/State Info tab – State Content section.
Comment – Displays selectable items only if the following criteria are met.
- Mode = Call
- Call Type = Digital
- Digi Call Type = Hot Text or State Information
