Let me share some basic information for the Talk Groups in DMR radio files. Your choices include Group Call, Private Call and All Call. Making the wrong choice could keep you from talking and hearing signals... and what fun is Ham radio if we can't talk to anyone?

Group Call provides voice call service between one individual user and other users connected to that same group. All parties in the group can hear and talk to each other. Simply, with your Talk Groups (Contacts) set to Group Call when creating contacts, and this talk group assigned to your working channel, when you transmit and if other people are connected to this group call, they will receive your signals and you can receive from them while you are on this channel.

Private Call provides voice service between one individual user and another individual user. A private call is initiated by the user by selecting the desired individual for the Contact of a given channel. The simple understanding is like two people communicating via a phone. One to one call. Only here they are using their DMR ID to make the connection.

All Call provides a one-way voice call from any user to all users within the same system. Due to the large target audience, there is no call hangtime associated with this call-in repeater mode. All call is not commonly used for radio enthusiasts, it is more suitable for commercial use, similar to broadcasting. When setting up to all call, this channel can only transmit, it CANNOT receive, just like our broadcast, only send and not receive. For example, in a company, if the leader wants to publish a message, the leader's radio can set up a All call, at this time he transmits all other radios will receive the message, even if someone accidentally presses the PTT button, the leader's transsion will not be interrupted.
